He is off the ventilator, but still on the trach collar, which provides 5% oxygen and humidity to keep secretions soft. The feeding tube is still in, but they have started counting calories, and adding things like Ensure to his diet to see if he can take in enough so the tube can come out (hopefully) in a few days. Still no thin liquids, sadly. It was a day of progress, but also trials, so please keep praying for them!
But the really big news is:
This is the real deal: completely and totally voluntary! Thomas and Natalie offered up prayers of thanksgiving, and ask that we all do the same!
